Shanxi Province’s raw coal output rises by 18.33 percent in Jan-Apr

According to the latest official data, in the first four months of this year both production and sales of raw coal in China's Shanxi Province indicated year-on-year increases.

During the given period, the province's raw coal output was 256 million mt, up 18.33 percent or 39.63 million mt compared to the first four months of 2010. Meanwhile, aggregate shipments of raw coal out of the province in the period came to 179.39 million mt, rising by 7.69 percent or 12.81 million mt year on year.

In January-April, the average sales price of the major state-owned coal enterprises in Shanxi was RMB 597/mt ($91.6/mt), registering a year-on-year increase of RMB 36/mt ($5.5/mt). The total sales income of these enterprises amounted to RMB 154.2 billion ($23.7 billion), an increase of RMB 53.4 billion ($8.2 billion) compared to the same period last year.
