Shanxi Province to cut 110 million mt of coal capacity in 2016-20

The Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of China’s Shanxi Province has announced that it has plans to eliminate 110 million mt of coal production capacity and relocate nearly 110,000 workers affected by the coal capacity reduction process during China’s 13th five-year plan period (2016-20).
 
Shanxi Province previously announced that it has achieved its coal capacity reduction target for 2016 ahead of schedule by eliminating 23.25 million mt of coal capacity and relocating 20,166 workers impacted by the coal capacity reduction.
