Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, has announced that in the third quarter of 2010 it will begin assembling a one million mt capacity scrap processing unit, which is planned to be commissioned in 2011.

Accordingly, the project for the construction of a new scrap metal shredder unit will be implemented in order to optimize scrap purchasing costs, given the ability of the new unit to process all types of secondary raw materials.

The new scrap processing unit, designed for recycling scrap metal of up to 12 mm in thickness, will be supplied by LYNXS Shredder, with the first equipment to be delivered in August-September.
