Severstal Group releases 2006 production results

The Russian steel giant Severstal Group (Severstal) has released its 2006 production results. Accordingly, in 2006 Severstal registered a 4.8 percent increase in its crude steel production, an eight percent increase in its pellet production, a 15.4 percent increase in its iron ore concentrate output and an eight percent increase in its coal concentrate production. The respective figures in metric tons were 17.6 million, 9.5 million, 4.5 million and 5.4 million. In 2007 the company plans a 30 percent increase in its coking coal production, a 5.3 increase in its pellets production and a 2.2 percent increase in its iron ore concentrate production.
