Salzgitter’s Stinnes purchase possibility

Speculations in respect of the German steel producer Salzgitter's possibility of buying the trading-distributing operations of Stinnes are going around in the market. Salzgitter remains silent on the issue for the time being while it is known that E.ON, the parent company of Stinnes is known to be in search of a buyer for some time. Salzgitter bought Universal Eisien und Stahl (UES) last year, a company with four service centers in Germany, six in Europe and the US, which is specialised mainly on flat products. Currently 30% of UES sales are of Salzgitter material and this figure is expected to grow in the future.
