SAIL awarded two prizes by Indian president

Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on April 10 presented two ‘Meritorious Awards in Specialized Fields,' instituted by India's Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), to domestic steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The awards were received by SAIL chairman Mr. S.K. Roongta at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan.
 
A company press release said that the two awards are in recognition of SAIL's far-reaching initiatives in the areas of corporate social responsibility and responsiveness (2008-09) and in research and development, technology development and innovation (2007-08).
