S. Korea’s consumer price growth falls below four percent in October

In October, consumer price growth slowed to 3.9 percent year on year in South Korea, dropping below four percent for the first time this year, according to the data released by Statistics Korea.

The 3.9 percent compares to a 4.3 percent year-on-year rise in consumer prices recorded in South Korea in September this year. Compared to September, consumer pricesin South Korea fell by 0.2 percent in October, marking the first month-on-month decline since November last year.

The slowdown in the year-on-year consumer price rise was mainly attributable to a fall inagricultural product prices, according to the Statistics Korea report. There were no big changes in prices for industrial products and services.
