Russia’s rolled steel output down 3.4 percent in April from March

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in April of the current year Russia's crude steel production decreased by 2.5 percent, its pig iron output went down by 3.9 percent, rolled steel production decreased by 3.4 percent, while steel tube output decreased by 8.9 percent, all month on month. Compared to April 2014, in April this year Russia's crude steel production increased by 0.6 percent, its pig iron output rose by 2.4 percent, its steel pipe production increased by 4.2 percent, while its rolled steel production decreased by 2.8 percent.

In the first four months this year, Russia's output of crude steel rose by 2.6 percent to 23.6 million metric tons, its pig iron production increased by 2.9 percent to 17.2 million metric tons, rolled steel production went up by 2.4 percent to 20.2 million metric tons, and steel pipe production increased by 14.3 percent to 3.7 million metric tons, all on year-on-year basis.
