Russia’s finished steel output up 1.1 percent in January-May

Russia's finished steel output in the January-May period of the current year amounted to 25.1 million mt, up 1.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, according to Russia's Federal State Statistics Service. In May this year, Russia’s finished steel output decreased by 1.8 percent year on year and by 2.1 percent month on month. 

 

In the first five months of this year, Russia’s pig iron output totaled 21.7 million mt, declining by 0.2 percent from the corresponding period of 2016. 

 

Meanwhile, in the January-May period this year Russia’s pipe, sections and pipe fittings output decreased by 6.6 percent year on year to 4.3 million mt.
