Russian steel making giants in talks for a possible merger

According to reports from the industry, two leading Russian steel producers, namely EvrazHolding and Severstal, are in talks for a merger in line with the consolidation process in the steel industry. In case, negotiations finalize with a favorable result, the world's sixth largest steel producer will be established. EvrazHolding has a capacity of 13.4 million tons per annum, while Severstal's annual capacity is 9.6 million tons.
