Russia targets annual coal output of 450 million mt by 2030

As announced in Russia's program for development of its coal industry up to 2030, annual coal production in Russia is expected to rise from the current level of 323 million mt to 450 million mt by the year in question.

In 2010 Russia's coal production increased by 5.4 percent year on year to 317 million mt.

Coal production in Russia has risen amid increased demand in the domestic and external markets, as well as due to improving external economic conditions.
