Russia issues January-August production results

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the first eight months of the current year Russia registered a 2.5 percent decline in its rolled steel product output to 38.6 million mt, a 2.8 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 46.2 million mt and a 0.4 percent decline in its pig iron production to 33.5 million mt, all year on year. In the given period, Russia saw a 3.9 percent increase year on year in its iron ore production to 15 million mt and a 7.4 percent increase year on year in its steel pipe production to 6.8 million mt.

In addition, in January-August Russia produced 225 million mt of coal, down 1.8 percent year on year, and 17.4 million mt of metallurgical coke, down 3.7 percent year on year.
