Rig count slumps in US and Canada

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending April 19, the US rig count fell by 13 to 1,758, following a 33-rig increase a week ago. During the week, the oil rig count fell by 16 to 1,371 while the gas-directed rig count was up two to 379.

Meanwhile, Canada's rig count fell another 30 to 126, following a 50-rig decrease the previous week and a 40-rig drop the week prior.
