Dominique Anglade, the economy minister of Canada's Quebec province, has stated that Quebec will offer C$100 million ($76.9 million) in guaranteed loans to smaller steel and aluminum companies hit by recent US steel and aluminum tariffs, according to a report by Reuters.

Anglade stated that the decision was made after aluminum and steel companies received feedback from clients who are not willing to pay the tariffs, adding that some of the aluminum and steel companies have already slowed down production because some of their contracts have been canceled.

There are currently around 30,000 workers in Quebec's steel and aluminum industries.
