The leading South Korean steelmaker POSCO has announced that its ZPSS (Zhangjigang-Pohang Stainless Steel) plant in China's Jiangsu Province has produced the first coil at its cold rolling mill No.2, which can produce 230,000 mt of steel products a year, mostly thick plates and wide sheet products. The 16-month project to build the second ZPSS cold rolling mill started on December 1, 2009.

The first coil produced at the cold rolling mill was POSCO 304 steel, a high-quality product, which is four feet in width and 20 mt in weight. Now in full operation, the new production facility is expected to help ZPSS expand its sales markets and enhance competitiveness.
