A technology transfer from South Korean steelmaker Posco to Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP) has reached 94 percent in May, the Brazilian steelmaker said.

Posco, a co-owner at the slab steelmaker along with Vale and Dongkuk, has been sharing its technology and expertise in steelmaking with CSP, which claims to be one of the world’s most modern mills.

According to CSP, 13 Posco supervisors have been on site to share expertise with teams responsible for coal mixture, technical ironmaking, and blast furnace maintenance. Additionally, Posco has implemented the use of eight translators to facilitate communication.
