POSCO interested in building steel facilities in Kalabagh, Pakistan

Leading South Korean steelmaker POSCO expressed interest in building steel facilities in Kalabagh, Pakistan during the recent visit of six-member company delegation to the Engineering Development Board (EDB) of Pakistan.
 
The EDB stated that Kalabagh is rich in mineral resources, such as iron ore and coal, while it is expected that annual steel demand will swell to 14 million mt in Pakistan by 2015 with domestic output of steel products expected to be just 10 million mt per year by then.
 
The POSCO delegation also inquired about the infrastructure situation in Kalabagh, including energy supplies.
