ArcelorMittal Europe - Flat Products, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-headquartered steelmaker ArcelorMittal, has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Poland-based RBB Steel Service Centre on reducing carbon emissions in the supply chain as well as using XCarb® solutions.

In line with the agreement, RBB has booked its first order of HDG produced via the XCarb® recycled and renewably produced route. RBB is a long-standing customer of ArcelorMittal Europe - Flat Products and has been buying a wide range of ArcelorMittal products for more than two decades, including HRC, CRC, HDG and metallic coated products such as Magnelis®, Jetskin®, and Alusi®.

“For many years, RBB has evolved in line with the concept of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, consistently implementing its goals, including the reduction of carbon footprint. Signing the contract for XCarb® solutions is another key step towards decarbonization, which will help us and our customers achieve environmental, social and governance goals,” Wlodzimierz Borusiak, CEO of RBB, said.
