Peruvian iron ore output almost stable in January-May

Iron ore production at Peru’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, rose by 34.9 percent year on year in May this year, according to data issued by the country’s mines and energy ministry.
 
Shougang produced 704,674 mt of the commodity in May, up from 522,287 mt in the same month of 2015.
 
In the January-May period of this year, Peruvian iron ore output totaled 3.46 million mt, remaining almost stable year on year.
