Peru’s iron ore production down 14.4 percent in April

In April this year, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 493,456 long tons (501,374 mt), decreasing 14.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and down 13.8 percent month on month, according to the preliminary data announced by Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry.

In the first four months of the current year the country's total iron ore production was 1.96 million long tons (1.99 million mt), marking a fall of 20.7 percent compared to the correspondent period of the previous year.
