Toronto, Canada-based coal mining company Pacific Coal Resources Ltd announced Monday that it has resumed operations at its La Caypa mine on February 4, 2012. Work in the mine had been halted on January 30, 2012 due to an illegal work stoppage by unauthorized personnel. The company took action--with the help of local police forces--and removed the unauthorized persons from the property after the Barrancas municipality issued an order for them to vacate the premises.

The La Caypa mine returned to normal production levels on February 5, 2012 and the company insists that it will work on catching up on lost production.
