Finland-based stainless steel producer Outokumpu has announced that it has delivered one of its largest orders for tank building, namely, 245 mt of duplex stainless steel for the construction of three big oil storage tanks at Antwerp harbor in Belgium.

The tanks enter service from September this year. Their expected service life is 50 to 60 years. The use of Outokumpu’s duplex stainless steel makes the tanks maintenance-free, while the strength of duplex stainless steel allows for material and fabrication cost savings and offers good corrosion resistance.
