Outokumpu to increase stainless steel capacity

According to the statement released by Finnish steel producer Outokumpu, the company will expand its value-added thin gauge stainless steel capacity on the back of rising demand. In line with this project, Outokumpu will invest €53 million in Kloster stainless steel cold rolling mill in Sweden. The investment will expand annual production capacity of the mill from 25'000 tons to 45'000 tons. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2006. With the capacity expansion, the company aims to meet rising demand for thin gauge stainless steel.
