OMK’s Vyksa sees 25 percent rise in September pipe output

The Russian steel and pipe producer United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced that in September this year its Novgorod-based pipe producer Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa) saw a 25 percent growth in its steel pipe production to 179,700 mt, including 116,300 mt of large diameter steel pipes - up 21 percent, both compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in January-September, Vyksa increased its steel pipe output by 27.2 percent year on year to 1.447 million mt, with its large diameter steel pipe production amounting to 937,200 mt - up 28.2 percent compared to January-September 2009.

In addition, during the first nine months of this year, Vyksa produced 469,800 railway wheels - up 54.7 percent year on year, of which 60,600 railway wheels were produced in September - up 75.5 percent year on year.
