OMK’s foundry and rolling facility to up output to 1.1 million mt in 2011

Russian steel and pipe producer OMK has announced that its foundry and rolling facility has produced two million mt of hot rolled coils since it was commissioned in October 2008.
 
In 2010, OMK's foundry and rolling facility increased its output by 40 percent compared to 2009 to 985,000 mt of hot rolled coils.
 
Since its commissioning, OMK's foundry and rolling facility has mastered the technology for smelting, casting and production of 21 steel grades.
 
In 2011, the facility is to commence production of thin hot rolled steel for various industries, including shipbuilding, and is expected to increase its output by 13 percent year on year to 1.1 million mt.
