Russian steel and pipe producer OMK has announced that in October this year its foundry and rolling facility produced 101,000 mt of coils, thus reaching its designed capacity of 100,000 mt of products per month.

OMK has also stated that, following the implementation of some investment projects, in the future it plans to increase the annual production capacity of its foundry and rolling facility from the current 1.5 million mt to three million mt.

In January-October, OMK produced 800,000 mt of coils at its foundry and rolling facility, which is used to produce about 90 percent of small and medium diameter pipes at its subsidiary Vyksa Steel Works. By the beginning of 2011, OMK's foundry and rolling facility plans to fully cover the needs of Vyksa Steel Works in coils for the production of these types of pipes.

OMK's foundry and rolling facility was commissioned in October 2008. To date, it has mastered the technology for smelting, casting and rolling products of 21 steel grades.
