OECD unemployment rate stable at 5.2 percent in July

In July this year, the unemployment rate of the 34 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries was stable at 5.2 percent compared to June, according to new figures published by the OECD. The number of unemployed in the OECD region was 33.3 million people in the same month.

In July, the unemployment rate in the euro area was at 7.5 percent, remaining stable, compared to the previous month. Outside Europe, in July the unemployment rate rose by 0.2 percentage points to 5.7 percent in Canada and was stable at 3.7 percent in the US, while decreasing marginally in Japan to 2.2 percent, month on month.
