OECD annual inflation rate stable at 2.9 percent in August

The annual inflation rate of the 34 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries was stable at 2.9 percent in August this year, when compared to the previous month, according to the latest figures.

Excluding food and energy, annual inflation remained stable at 2.1 percent in August, when compared to the previous month.

Compared with July, annual inflation in August decreased to 2.8 percent in Canada from 3.0 percent and was down to 2.7 percent in th US from 2.9 percent. In August as compared with July, annual inflation grew to 1.6 percent in Italy from 1.5 percent, rose to 2.4 percent in the United Kingdom from 2.3 percent and was up to 1.3 percent in Japan from 0.9 percent, while it remained stable at 2.3 percent in France and at 2.0 percent in Germany.
