Norwegian decarbonized steel developer Blastr Green Steel has announced that it has signed a deal with Norway-based power company Sogn og Fjordane Energi (SFE) for long-term supply of clean electricity to its planned pellet plant at Lutelandet on the west coast of Norway. Blastr and SFE aim to sign a final agreement by the end of 2025.

The pellet plant in question is considered as a potential location for supplying feedstock to Blastr’s ultra-low carbon steel plant currently under development in Inkoo, Finland.

In August this year, Blastr Green Steel selected Lutelandet as a potential location for its pellet plant, as SteelOrbis previously reported. The plant will convert iron ore pellet feed into direct reduction pellets.
