NMDC’s iron ore sales up 24 percent in FY 2016-17

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the full financial year of 2016-17 (ended March 31) it produced 34.03 million mt of iron ore, increasing by 20 percent compared to the previous financial year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period rose by 24 percent year on year to 35.62 million mt.
 
During the given year, NMDC's iron ore output and sales from its Karnataka mines amounted to 12 million mt and 12.62 million mt, respectively, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines totaled 22.03 million mt and its sales from the Chhattisgarh mines reached 23 million mt.
