The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that its US-based hot rolled steel producing subsidiary Beta Steel, located in the city of Portage, Indiana, has changed its name to ‘NLMK Indiana', effective from July 27, 2010.

Accordingly, the company's new name reflects its identity and position within the corporate structure of NLMK Group, to which it has belonged since October 2008.

NLMK Indiana is specialized in the production and sale of hot rolled coils, primarily to pipe and tube manufacturers and steel processors. The company operates an EAF melt shop and a hot strip rolling mill with annual capacities of 700,000 mt and 1.1 million mt respectively, and employs about 350 people.
