Russian steelmarker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that NLMK Kaluga, part of NLMK Group's Long Products Division, has obtained German national standard DIN 488 certification for its 10-25 mm diameter class B500B rebar.

The products passed certification of compliance valid until 2020 after tests carried out by Technische Universität München. The certification will enable NLMK to supply its rebar not only to the German construction sector but also to construction sectors in other European countries.

NLMK Kaluga, a next-generation EAF mini-mill which is uniquely equipped for the production of the widest range of premium-grade long products for use in construction in Russia, was launched in July 2013, while its steelmaking and long product capacities are 1.5 million mt and 0.9 million mt per year, respectively.
