The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced the commissioning of a new scarfing machine which will ensure the high quality of the producer's slabs.
The new machine which will prepare over 300,000 mt of slabs per year for rolling was designed for the high-accuracy flame treatment of steel in automatic mode and will allow NLMK to meet its customers' requirements for slabs used in the manufacturing of special flat steel products, including exposed parts and heavy plates.
The project worth Ruble 300 million ($12.6 million) was implemented within the framework of the second stage of NLMK's Technical Upgrade Program.
