NISCO holds hot test for converter No. 1 at new steelmaking plant

A successful hot run test was carried out on November 23 on converter No. 1 of the new steelmaking plant of Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steel producer Nanjing Iron and Steel Co. (NISCO), a subsidiary of Nanjing Iron and Steel Group Co., as announced by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Co. (MCC) on November 25. The new production facilities located in Nanjing are being built by MCC subsidiary China MCC20 Group Corp. (MCC20 Group).

NISCO plans to construct three 100 mt converters at its new steelmaking plant with an overall annual crude steel output capacity of 3.608 million mt. The new plant project includes a continuous slab casting workshop with a designed annual output capacity of 3.5 million mt of slab.
