Russian steel venture AV-Stal plans to construct another mini-mill, this time in the town of Sukhinichi in Russia's Kaluga region.

Accordingly, the new mini-mill will be specialized in the production of rebar and later in the production of hardware. Details of the planned capacity are not yet available. AV-Stal has already signed a partnership agreement with the administration of the town of Sukhinichi, while the construction works are expected to begin in summer this year.

AV-Stal is already implementing a similar project, i.e., for the construction of a new mini-mill for the production of long steel products, in the town of Surovikino in Russia's Volgograd region, which will have an annual capacity of 120,000 mt of finished products per year. The investors are planning to build a total of five new mini-mills in Russia.
