New Iranian plant Bardsir Steel to be commissioned in early 2013

New Iranian steel plant Bardsir Steel, located close to Bardsir city in the southeastern Iranian province of Kerman, is expected to be put into operation in early 2013.
 
The plant comprises a direct reduced iron (DRI) module of one million mt annual capacity and a melt shop also with an annual capacity of one million mt. Construction of the DRI plant already has progressed about 25 percent physically, while construction of the melt shop has started recently. Bardsir Steel is one of the many projects of MIDHCO - a holding company which belongs to Iran-based Bank Pasargad.
