Morocco's Industry, Trade and New Technologies Ministry has announced the preliminary results of the antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding hot rolled flat steel imports from the European Union and Turkey.

The preliminary dumping margins are 60.42 percent for ArcelorMittal, 22.11 percent for both Tata Steel and Steel Link and the preliminary dumping margins for the two Turkish steel mills are de minimis (less than two percent), 1.97 percent for Colakoglu Metalurji and zero percent for Erdemir.

Accordingly, the Moroccan ministry calculated the following preliminary antidumping duty rates: ArcelorMittal - 29.12 percent; Tata Steel - 22.11 percent; Steel Link - 22.11 percent; Colakoglu - zero (0 percent) and Erdemir - zero (0 percent). The preliminary antidumping duty rate for all the other producers/exporters not involved in the investigation stands at 29.12 percent.

The goods subject to preliminary antidumping duty are currently classified under Harmonized System code numbers 7208 (excluding 7208.10 and 7208.40), 7211.13, 7211.14 and 7211.19.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in January this year the Moroccan government initiated an antidumping duty investigation against hot rolled flat steel imports from the European Union and Turkey upon the request of Maghreb Steel.
