Moldavian Steel Works’ crude steel output falls slightly in 2012

According to its preliminary data, in 2012 Moldavian Metallurgical Works (MMZ), a steelmaker based in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, produced 316,682 mt of crude steel and 356,754 mt of finished steel products, down 1.2 percent and up 16.4 percent compared to 2011.
 
In December 2012, Moldavian Metallurgical Works produced 35,222 mt of crude steel and 53,872 mt of rolled steel. The latter volume included 27,391 mt of rebar and 26,480 mt of wire rod.
