Moldavian Steel Works produces 391,228 mt of rolled products in 2014

According to preliminary data, in 2014 Moldavian Metallurgical Works (MMZ), a steelmaker based in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, produced 344,470 mt of crude steel and 391,228 mt of finished steel products.

In December last year, Moldavian Metallurgical Works produced 27,597 mt of crude steel and 19,857 mt of rolled steel. The latter volume included 5,893 mt of rebar and 13,964 mt of wire rod. The company's shipments in December totaled 23,591 mt of rolled products.

In January this year, MMZ plans to produce 12,753 mt of rolled steel products, down 43 percent year on year.
