MOC: Average steel prices in China down slightly during Dec 30-Jan 5

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during the December 30-January 5 period last year the average finished steel prices in China saw a slight decline.

In the given period, the average prices of common medium steel plate, hot rolled steel strip and welded steel pipe decreased by 0.4 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.3 percent week on week, respectively.  

In the same period, the average prices of smoke-free lump coal and coking coal declined by 1.3 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively, while the average price of thermal coal remained stable, all week on week.
