Mobarakeh Steel Company produced 4.9 million metric tons of flats during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2008), according to the producer's sales and marketing manager Mr. Mohammad Reza Shamsabadi. During the period in question, Mobarakeh's flat product output was 16 percent higher than the producer's nominal annual capacity of 4.2 million metric tons.
Mr. Shamsabadi also pointed out that Mobarakeh is already able to meet local demand for cold rolled coil as well as for pre-painted galvanized coil, and that the company intends to export surplus production in the current year.
