MMX Corumba acquires pig iron plant operating license

MMX Mineracao e Metalicos SA has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, MMX Metalicos Corumba Limited has been granted an operating license which will allow the company to initiate industrial operation of its pig iron plant at Corumba in Mato Grosso do Sul. The subject license was granted by the Environmental Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul (IMASUL), of the State Ministry of Environment, Cities, Planning, Science and Technology (SEMAC).

MMX Corumba commenced the pre-operation of its first blast furnace on August, 6 and the first commercial quality pig iron is expected on August, 10.
