MMK to launch cold rolling complex in July 2012

Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) plans to launch the cold rolling complex and the aggregate of continuous annealing in July 2012. The total volume of investment into the project is around $1.5 billion.

The capacity of the cold rolling complex is 2 million mt of high quality cold rolled and galvanized rolled products per year.

The first stage of the complex - mill 2000 was commissioned in July 2011. The company has already installed more than 80 percent of processing equipment of the cold rolling complex. The supplier of the equipment is German company SMS Siemag.
