Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) plans to stop its mill 170 for a 15-day complete overhaul in the second half of October. The designed annual capacity of the mill is 765,000 mt of rod and reinforcing bar per year.

In October, the company plans to decrease rod output by more than four times compared to September, to 30,000 mt, due to repair works. Production of reinforcing bar in bundles will be halved month on month to 3,000-5,000 mt. In total, MMK plans to produce 120,000 mt of rolled section steel in October, down 22.6 percent compared to September.

In the January-September period of the current year, MMK produced 1.1 million mt of rolled section steel, 1.5 times more than in the same period of last year.
