Compañía Minera Autlan announced the start of the maintenance program for its ferroalloy plant in Gomez Palacio, Durango. However, to make operational improvements, “maintenance will be extended for a few months.” The company said the closure will not affect the supply for its customers.

The ferroalloy plants in Teziutlan, Puebla and Tamas, Veracruz will continue to operate normally, except for the maintenance of one of the five furnaces at the Tamos plant, the company informed the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV).

According to the company, the Mexican steel industry, like the global one, “is in a period of less dynamism.”
