Lowered energy tariffs to benefit Mexican mining companies

Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) decided this week to reduce their tariffs, which will result in a benefit to the operating expenses of mineral extraction companies like Minera Autlán.

The ferroalloys company estimated that in 2015 production will decrease electricity expenses by 6 percent due to lower rates and an improved outlook for the domestic mining industry.

Gustavo Cárdenas, director of Finance Autlán, said the group's prospects in EBITDA terms in this situation are positive.
