Mexico’s Secretariat of Economy has announced that it has added imports of cold rolled coil (CRC) from China with a boron content of 0.0008 percent or higher to the existing antidumping (AD) duty on imports of cold rolled coil (CRC) from China. The antidumping duty rates for the mentioned products range between 65.99 percent and 103.41 percent.

The anti-circumvention investigation was launched upon the application lodged by domestic producers Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) and Ternium alleging that the existing antidumping measures are being circumvented. They noted that cold rolled steel with added boron imported from China has relatively minor differences in relation to the cold rolled carbon steel sheet whose imports are subject to payment of antidumping duties.

The added products fall under the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7209.16.01 and 7209.17.01.
