Ukrainian mining and steel producing group Metinvest has stated that its Krasnodon Coal's Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya mine has been operating as usual as of August 19. Coal mining and excavations are in progress at the mine and daily targets are being achieved.

Specialists had been working for two days to restore electricity transmission lines and the transformer substation. When the situation regarding the electricity supply was stabilized, the Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya mine resumed its operations. Krasnodon Coal's employees are completing the construction of an emergency warehouse to store mined coal.

The Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya mine was cut off from electricity supply on August 17 as a result of artillery shelling.
