Meishan Mining completes extension of phase two project

Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group has announced that its Jiangsu Province-based subsidiary Meishan Mining Co. has completed construction work on the extension of its phase two project.
 
The extension of the phase two project, on which construction work started on March 28, 2004, focused on exploration for iron ore at a depth of 330-420 meters beneath the ground.
 
In the 2006-2010 period, Meishan Mining recorded a raw iron ore output of 19.98 million mt and an iron ore concentrate output of 11 million mt, with sales of iron ore concentrate reaching 10.99 million mt.
