The Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry has announced that it has initiated an administrative review regarding the antidumping duty on wire rod imports from China.

The administrative review was launched upon the application filed by domestic steel producer Amsteel Mills Sdn. Bhd. on the grounds that there has been a substantial change in the dumping margin for wire rods.

The review covers two Chinese steelmakers, Jiangsu Shagang International Trade Co. and Jiangsu Yonggang Group Co., which were excluded from the antidumping duty imposed in February 2013.

The products subject to administrative review currently fall under the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7213.10.000, 7213.20.000, 7213.91.000 and 7213.99.000.
